Mike and I met on a blind double date. He went to medical school with my sister and he stunned me with his kindness, perseverance, shy but confident personality, and with how genuine he was. Wedding planning was not my favorite thing. I liked to pick decisively for everything except for my wedding gown. I looked forward to this part my whole life. In my sister's speech she mentioned how I babysat at age 12 and saved all my money every summer to save up for a wedding dress. I watched Say Yes to the Dress religiously as a little girl. I had never pictured my wedding day besides the dress. I always thought I would pick a more full dress, but when I put on my blush Hayley Paige dress I was done. It was only the third dress I tried on and I knew right then and there it was the one. I had wanted to be able to shop more for this chapter of planning but I felt like a queen and it had everything I could want and more in a dress. Our wedding was the most perfect day of our lives. We had the best weather for an August day, our dance floor was outside under the stars, fire pits, and the most magical day. Thank you for making me feel so beautiful! Today my husband is an ER physician on the front line of this pandemic in Toledo, Ohio and I frequently watch our wedding videos and look at our pictures to remind myself of how lucky we are to have that day and have each other. I am a nurse and the two of us are in this together.
